Joseph Wakshlag is currently a professor at the Cornell University Veterinary College with over 15 years of research experience in canine obesity, cancer cell biology, sporting dogs and pain management. He is the chief of service for the Cornell Hospital for Animals Nutrition department and works clinically as a sports medicine and rehabilitation practitioner in the hospital. His most recent research endeavors have been in the field of cannabinoids in veterinary medicine, focusing on dogs and cats. His interest and collaborative efforts with Ellevet Sciences has led him to a chief medical position with Ellevet, with six ongoing clinical trials in a range of diseases that might be conducive to hemp-derived cannabinoid treatment.
